Manchester United squad vs Arsenal revealed

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Man Utd squad reported to The Lowry Hotel on the eve of Sunday’s game against Arsenal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his Manchester United players arrived at The Lowry Hotel on Saturday night as they prepare to take on Arsenal at Old Trafford.

United remain without Alex Telles after the Brazilian full-back tested positive for the coronavirus, but Brandon Williams is in contention to make his first Premier League appearance of the season after he was included in Solskjaer’s provisional 20-man squad for the game against last season’s FA Cup winners.

Anthony Martial will serve the final match of his three-game domestic suspension, while Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard remain sidelined. Teden Mengi was promoted to the first-team squad in September but did not report to the team hotel after featuring in the U18s’ FA Youth Cup defeat by Chelsea at St. George’s Park on Friday.

Odion Ighalo, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Facundo Pellistri were not spotted arriving at the hotel by photographers.

Paul Pogba reported around 10 minutes later than the rest of his teammates and will be hopeful of starting in the league for the first time since United’s 6-1 defeat by Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Pogba started for the first time since the international break in Wednesday’s 5-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, operating in a more advanced role than he has become accustomed to featuring in for United.

Solskjaer was asked about Pogba’s best position in his press conference on Friday morning and responded: “Paul can do everything on a  football pitch, more or less. He can play long passes, get in the box, play combinations outside the box.

“But he played really well, he did impact the game. We love to see him driving forward and affecting the game. What has been the case after being injured and ill for so long is getting back and the fitter he is the more he can do.”
