RIGHT OF REPLY TO SENATOR KIRAITU: It was not only unfortunate but also rather absurd when the respected Senator for Meru county Hon. Kiraitu sunk to the lowest ebb in modern day Kenya. Senator Kiraitu had an enviable records of fighting for democracy during the dark days KANU juggernaut. Surprisingly he begun beating empty and hollow drums of war and much worse he was pathetically cantankerous by issuing out reckless statements by inciting communities against each other…..read Isiolo-Meru communities . Just like the proverbial lizard that jumped from high Iroko tree and praised itself as if no one else did it….The senator said nothing new, it is just a replica of what other politicians not of his ilk has been issuing in broad day light in the very eyes of government security agencies such as Office of the Director of Public Prosecution and other government organ like National Cohesion & Integration Commission. Methinks, No person, no place, and no thing has any power over us, in our minds, we will find it in our lives. Senator Kiraitu flagrantly breached due process of the law. Peace and harmony, united and strong, we must have one people, one nation, one flag. Nature is based on harmony. So it says if we want to survive and become more like nature, then we actually have to understand that it’s cooperation versus competition. The requirements for our evolution have changed. Survival is no longer sufficient. Our evolution now requires us to develop spiritually – to become emotionally aware and make responsible choices. It requires us to align ourselves with the values of the soul – harmony, cooperation, sharing, and reverence for life. The long and short of it is, you cannot ask people to coexist by having one side bow their heads and rely on a solution that is only good for the other side. What you can do is stop blaming each other and engage in dialogue with one person at a time. Everyone knows that violence begets violence and breeds more hatred. We need to find our way together. I feel I cannot rely on or even internalize the various spokespersons like Hon. Kiraitu who claims to act on behalf of the very good people from the slopes whom we have been living together amicably since time immemorial . Invariably they have some agenda that doesn’t work for the community . Instead, I talk to my community , to my neighbors and colleagues–Borans, Merians –and I find out they feel as I do: we are more similar than we are different, and we are all fed up with the violence. #IsioloAndMeruCommunitiesForPeace
